Dirt!

We now have dirt around the foundation thanks to our neighbor and his business Garden Environments. I'm pretty excited!!

Next is building the porch steps and finishing exterior repairs. Painters come next week, whoo-hoo!

Balusters and Railing

Yesterday the balusters and railing went up. We have lowered the rail to its original height and are reusing the balusters (which are not original).

About the Main Paint Color

We've settled on Belvedere Cream (SW) for the main color of our house, along with an off-white trim. I imagine it will look similar to this house we drove past today:

Fabric for the family room

Last week I ordered some fabric to make curtains for the family room:

A floor! And columns!

It's so exciting to have the floor down on the front porch! I actually really love the building process--sometimes more than arriving at the finished product. Allow me to explain: I love progress. I love the transformation, the period of working on something. :) I honestly miss all the decision-making that took place with the first phase... I'm weird like that.

We also have our original trim back from the dip tank (lead paint removal) and the first few columns went up Friday morning. Whoo-hoo! This is gonna be one fancy bus stop! ha ha, jk!
