Windows Done!

Changes

We were on vacation last week but that didn't stop massive amounts of work being done to our house! Here are phone pic updates:

I've started putting up curtains in Elana's room. The middle one will get done today. Of course I still need to putty/prime/paint but eh, details:

This week marks the start of replacing the downstairs windows. Dining room earlier today:

Preparing for the foundation

The past couple of days have been all about preparing to rebuild the porch foundation. What does that look like? Lots and lots of digging!

Bye Bye Bushes... And the rest of the porch!

This morning Sheldon's guys removed the overgrown bushes--what a job! So glad we hired that out!

Temporary bracing

I'm not sure I realized there was, at some point, a (functional?) brick foundation wall under the porch. Now it's crumbled and full of trash. Sweet. Good thing we're rebuilding it!!

Working on the Porch

Hopefully this construction fence will keep people from waiting for the bus on my porch... 

 

Or at least the lack of flooring (you would think) would keep them off...

All the original detail pieces (including posts) are being saved and reused. We are rebuilding everything else.
